North Parish UU Church holds gun control vigil
MVP member group North Parish Unitarian Universalist Church held a peaceful protest on February 18 to bring attention to the problem of guns in America. The vigil came in the wake of the Feb. 14 school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
“I think this little vigil today is just a symbol of taking action and knowing that thoughts and prayers are not enough,” said MVP leader Rev. Lee Blumel. (quote from the Eagle-Tribune)

Jacob Leonce speaking with media
Haverhill resident Jacob Leonce bravely share his story with media outlets from throughout Greater Boston. Despite his impending deportation order, Jacob has continued to personify honor and courage in all that he has done. We'd like to thank the New England Pentecostal Church in Pelham, NH for dedicating their January 28 service to Jacob and allowing us to use their space for Jacob's interview after the Sunday worship.

Good-bye and best wishes to Rev. Jane Beardon
Many thanks to MVP leader, Reverned Jane Bearden of Trinity Episcopal Church, who enjoyed a beautiful retirement ceremony today. Reverned Jane has been a strong MVP leader for many years and her church has been a leader in children's education services for the city of Haverhill. We wish Reverend Jane the best in her journeys and we thank her for her commitment to social justice!
